Obituary of Rosalie J. Bush

Please share a memory of Rosalie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elmira: Rosalie peacefully ended her journey on the evening of January 17, 2015 and was called into the next life at the age of 93. As the only survivor and youngest of nine children she looked forward to reuniting with her family as well as her infant daughter, Joann Marie, and great grandson, Peter Costello. Anyone who knew Rosalie for very long knew that she was a twin to Rosemary. The twins were born at home and their first crib was a cozy dresser drawer. Their family home was a shared building with the Telephone Central Office of Golva, ND. When they were seniors in high school they moved to Rochester, MN. After graduation she worked at the Mayo Clinic. In Rochester she met her husband of 73 years, Warren Bush. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Tom Costello of Elmira, and son John, who resides in Seattle. Due to the blessing of a good long life she got to watch her grandchildren grow into adulthood: Timothy, Benjamin, Daniel Costello and Jake Bush. She also was able to hold and love 8 great-grandchildren. Rosalie's family was the love of her life, but as the children moved on she worked at Moore Business Forms in Elmira. She loved to play bridge and was very involved with the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Elmira, where she was an active member of Parish Council and the Rosary Altar Society. She also was one of the original members of the West Elmira Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Being a lover of music she enjoyed her involvement with the Thursday Morning Musicales and she loved neighboring! Warren and Rosalie enjoyed travel, camping and sailing. Friends are invited to attend an 11:00 a.m. service at Woodlawn National Cemetery Columbarium on Friday, January 23, 2015. Additional services will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers friends are invited to make donations to the Southern Tier Food Bank, 388 Upper Oakwood Avenue, Elmira NY 14903. "What a caterpillar perceives is the end, to the butterfly is just the beginning."
