Obituary of Eva C. Bubacz

Lowman: Age 93, passed away at the home of her daughter, on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Eva was born September 16, 1921, in Elmira, a daughter of George and Mary (Shemoin) David. She is predeceased by her husband Robert C. Bubacz, sisters, Rose (Charles) Charlap, Rum (Art) Sykes, Adlyn David, brothers, George (Gert) David, David J. (Mable) David, and beloved canine companion Squeaky. Eva is survived by her children, Kenneth R. Bubacz of Lowman, Gregory M. Bubacz of Freeville NY, Christopher Bubacz, with his wife Susan, of White Plains NY, and Mary Burton of Lowman; son-in-law Dale Burton of Wellsburg; special nieces and nephews, Miriam Smith of Elmira, Patty Ann Tanner of Chicago IL, Alan Charlap of Elmira, John Michael and Pat David of Atlanta GA; along with life-long friend Ann Ross of Horseheads. Eva had 12 years of Catholic education at St. Patrick's Grammar School and Elmira Catholic High School, which were in the same building. She was a Registered Nurse working at St. Joseph's Hospital for a number of years. Eva later worked as a Teacher's Aide at Diven School. Involved in the community she was a volunteer with the Clemens Center, Senior Citizens Luncheons, former President of the Elmira Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an Election Inspector and a life time member of the ELSYLEBAM Club. She was a lifelong active communicant of St. Patrick's Church. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to Eva's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., St. Patrick's Church, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow.
