Obituary of Wilson F. Colucci

Wilson F. Colucci "Bill" Elmira: Age 94, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Bill was born October 10, 1918, the son of Andrea and Daria (Masia) Colucci. He is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Cooper and Caroline Micoli, and brothers, John and Robert Colucci. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty (Perrotta) Colucci; sons, with their families, Dr. Wilson S. and Dr. Jill Downing, Wellesley MA and children, Nicole D. (Michael) Ferrante, Staff Sgt. Matthew W. Colucci, U S Army; Thomas J. and Kathleen A. Colucci, Southbury CT and sons, Dr. Andrew T. (Sandra) Colucci, Joshua W. Colucci; brother and sister-in-law Dr. Andrew and Marie Colucci; sisters, Ann Bianco, Delores Ritch; sisters-in-law, Jane Colucci, Anita Pucci; along with several nieces and nephews. Bill was born and raised in Elmira. A World War II veteran, he was in his second year at Bentley College in Boston when he was called to serve in the U S Army. After serving in campaigns in Africa, Italy and the Middle East, Sgt. Colucci returned to Bentley College to complete his studies, graduating in 1946. Bill had a career as an accountant. He also owned the Heights Liquor Store for 40 years and was active in real estate, owning and operating rental property in Elmira and Elmira Heights. During retirement he greatly enjoyed annual winter trips to Florida where he could spend time with his grandchildren and family. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A prayer service will follow at 12:15 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment, with committal prayers and military honors, will then take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
