Gillett: Age 76, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Paul was born in Patton PA on July 2, 1938 a son of the late Paul N. and Helen Stoltz Westrick. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his wife of 50 years Joanne Thomas Westrick, daughter Sandra L. Noble and sister Margaret Adams. Paul is survived by children, Paula A. Austin of Elmira with children Colleen and Donald Austin; Calli J. Ford of Gillett PA with children Christina and Daniel Ford; James M. Westrick of Elmira with his wife Leanne and children Joshua Keck and Jacob Westrick; Paul A. Westrick Jr. of Gillett; grandchildren (Sandra's daughters) Jessica and Jennifer Noble; great grandchildren Abigail Bastian, Lillian Depew, Jackson Reinsburrow and David Henson Jr.; fiancée Karin Packard of Gillett; siblings, Melvina and Patrick Weakland of Kane PA, Carol Baker of Caton NY, Eugene Westrick of Montour Falls, Jude and Walter Bailey of Arizona, Diana Fogle of Painesville OH, Patricia Rock of Painesville OH, Richard Westrick of Elmira NY and Cathy Mertens of Allentown PA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was Paymaster and life member of the E.J. Brewer detachment of the Marine Corps League. Paul was a life member of the South Creek Fire Department and a member of the Elmira Heights V.F.W. #6083. He enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in being the caretaker of Gillett Cemetery. Paul was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler football and NASCAR race fan. Paul was retired from Anchor Glass with 43 years of service. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Monday at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow at Gillett Cemetery. Those wishing may honor Paul with a donation to Volunteer Services, Bath VA Medical Center, Bath NY 14810.
