Horseheads: Age 83, formerly of Elmira, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Bethany Manor. Albert was born March 17, 1931 in Scranton PA a son of Naziera (Salem) and Peter Haddad. He is predeceased by his wife Veronica McKernan Haddad, sisters, Eva and Mary Haddad, brother Joseph Haddad, brother-in-law Ellsworth Lynch. Albert is survived by his sister Semera Lynch of Elmira, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Elma Haddad of Horseheads, nephew Patrick (Vickie) Lynch of Elmira, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis B. and Maureen McKernan of Pine City, Gerald P., Jr. and Paula McKernan of Laddsburg PA, nieces and nephews, Dennis Patrick McKernan (with Michelle Potrzebowski), of Elmira, Elizabeth (Anthony) Corradi of Albany NY, Amber (Martin) Meils of Redwood CA, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. Albert was a U S Army veteran proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was a retired Corrections Officer having worked for many years at the Elmira Correctional Facility. Albert was active in the local Amateur Radio Club. An outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and an occasional game of golf. Albert was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service for Albert on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Those wishing may remember Albert with a donation to a charity of their choice.
