Obituary of Henry J. Gladke

Age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Hank was born in Elmira January 29, 1932, the only child of Jack S. and Esther (Wladis) Gladke. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Maureen Padia Gladke; son Jack M. Gladke, Keuka Lake; sister-in-law Sharon Stone, Colorado Springs CO; along with several cousins. Hank was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He operated Gladke TV and Appliances, sold insurance for Monarch Life Insurance Company and sold dental supplies for Leventhal Dental. Hank was an avid New York Yankee fan. His favorite hobby was fishing with Keuka Lake being his preferred spot. Hank was a long time Rotarian, and a life time member of the Elmira Elks Club. He was a very charitable man helping out many organizations and military service groups. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Burial, with military honors, to follow at Sons of Abraham Cemetery in Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
