Age 71, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Ed was born in Elmira on October 6, 1942 a son of Edward and Pearl Reed Green. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Barbara Lutz Green; daughter and son-in-law Denise and Dan McCarthy; grandsons Edward G. Ed retired from Chemung Canal Trust Company after 35 years of service. At the time of his retirement he was Vice President of the Home Equity Department which he established and managed for many years. He was very active with banking activities during his years at Chemung Canal. He was the longtime coach for the bank's softball team and organized the bowling teams Chemung Canal sent to the NYS Bankers Association bowling tournament every year. He was a member of the Robert Morris Group (a banking group) and attended many classes sponsored by the American Banking Association. Ed was an active member of the "Jolly Boys", which was a group of men who met once a month for lunch. To be a member you had to have at least 25 years of service with Chemung Canal and be invited by the group. He was a member of the Elmira Elks Club. Ed's greatest joy was time spent with family and especially his grandsons. He spent many summers taking the family to Canada for fishing and boating.
