Paul F. McLane Pine City: Age 88, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Paul was born September 30, 1924, the son of Lee and Beatrice (Kennedy) McLane. He was predeceased by his son Randy in 1991, wife Theresa in 1993 and sister Donna Sullivan in 2004. Paul is survived by his children, with their families, Larry and Theresa McLane and his children, Jeremy, Lee (Jessica), Colin, Scott; Cheryl and Jim Niver and children, Jeanette (Craig) Troccia, Michelle Wareham, Amber (Jack) Cone; Susan and Ron Pirozzolo and children, Dr. Jason (Sarah), Brian, Andrew, Jennifer. Also survived by step-children, with their families, Sid and Stefano Ringer and children, Zack, Gracie; Michaelene and Matt Doyle and children, Jasmine (Chris) Canestaro, Steven, Kate; Joseph Whitney and son Joseph; Bill Whitney and children, Billy, Xavier, Joshua; along with 18 great grandchildren. Paul was a U S Navy veteran of WWII. He enlisted his senior year of high school and spent 2 years in the South Pacific on the destroyer USS Thorn. Upon his discharge in 1946 he finished high school and attended both Elmira College and Syracuse University. Paul and his father started Lee R. McLane & Son Construction Co., later becoming McLane Construction Co. He retired after 49 years in the construction business. Paul was a co-founder of the Chemung Valley Builders Association, a member of Construction Industry Employers Association, Fur, Fin and Feather, and a long time member of the Elmira Country Club. It was Paul's request that there be no calling hours. Those wishing may remember him with a donation to a charity of one's choice.
