Obituary of Jennie H. Zimmer

Jennie H. Zimmer Age 91, of Elmira, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Jennie was born June 4, 1918. She was raised by her mother Birdina Clayson Millspaugh, and step-father Sayre Millspaugh. Jennie is predeceased by her husband Lawrence E. Zimmer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary L. and Richard "Slats" Budnick of Elmira; son Larry E. Zimmer, Jr. of Holmes Beach, FL; grandchildren, Karen (Michael) Pangallo of Watkins Glen, with children, Parker and Peiyton; Jeannine (Danny) Russell of Fort Meade, FL; Jackie Brock of Fort Meade, FL, with children, Lacey and A.J.; "second" daughter, Gail Haupt Leljedal of Elmira, with fiancé Bob Hicks; along with several nieces and nephews. Jennie attended hairdressing school and was a hairdresser for a few years before raising her family. She was a deeply religious woman, and had a great sense of humor. Jennie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service following. In lieu of flowers donations in Jennie's memory may be directed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P O Box 1306, Elmira, NY 14902. Special thanks to Gail Leljedal, Julie Lewis, the nurses and aides at Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care given Jennie.
