Obituary of Michael Anthony Lamberti
Michael A. Lamberti, 67 – Michael “Mike” Lamberti was born February 13, 1958, in Elmira, NY, and passed away after a long battle with heart disease on May 9, 2025. He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas D. Lamberti, mother, Beverly J. Lamberti, and sister, Joanne Lamberti. He is survived by his loving son, Daniel Lamberti, Vestal NY, the mother of his son, Kathleen DeLuca, Vestal NY, his siblings, Lisa and Nicholas P. Lamberti, Elmira NY, his nephew, Nicholas P. Lamberti Jr., his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Herbie Campbell, cousins, Kim Campbell, David and Ricky Lamberti, and many friends and loved ones in the Elmira area.
Mike was a loving son, father, brother, cousin, and uncle. He had a passion for sports, especially the Yankees and Cowboys, cards, bingo, and the daily lottery numbers. Mike served in the US Navy from 1976 to 1980 and received an honorable discharge after graduating from Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira, NY in the class of 1976. Mike loved watching Yankees games and betting on the NFL. He hated losing more than he liked winning. He was known by some at bingo halls and card rooms as Flash because once he lost, he was out the door in a flash. He worked most recently as an insurance agent at Combined Insurance until he was unable to work due to complications from heart disease. Mike was well known in the Elmira area for his voice, laugh, and kind, but sometimes blunt, heart. He was a proud father who loved watching his son Daniel play sports and graduate from Vestal, earn his degree at Binghamton University and start his career. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
We would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped provide Mike’s care over the years, particularly those at the end. Mike always credited Dr. Nicholas Stamato from Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY for saving his life. We would also like to express our sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY for their kindness and exemplary care. Lastly, we would like to thank those that worked at the VA to assist along the way.
There will be no funeral services. Mike’s final wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread with his late mother Beverly and sister Joanne.
