
Obituary of Ann Mary (Sheehe) Savage
Age 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Corning Hospital. Ann was born and raised in Elmira, the daughter of the late James B. Sheehe, Sr. and Loretta Conklin Sheehe. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 51 years William M. Savage, brother James B. Sheehe, Jr., sister Loretta McCarthy, uncle and aunt Harry D. and Ethel Sheehe. She is survived by beloved daughter Elizabeth McCarthy and grandchildren Aidan, Teagan, and Jynx (Mallory) Crum; brother Patrick Sheehe; sister Marie Sheehe; sister-in-law Janeen Sheehe, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and a Licensed Business School Teacher. She later went on to obtain a BS from SUNY Empire State College. Ann was employed as an RN in many settings throughout her career. These included staff nursing, supervisory and teaching positions at St. Joseph's Hospital, Upstate Medical Center, Geneva School of Practical Nursing, and Elmira Business Institute. She loved nursing and felt privileged to care for the many people she encountered during her career, but dearest to her heart was caring for her family.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
