Obituary of Charles F. Niles I

Age 73, of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Charles was the son of the late Nelson and Eleanor (Lewis) Niles. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Patricia Anne (Potter) Niles, father and mother-in-law, David W. and Florence Potter, brothers Norman Niles, Dennis Niles, Milton Niles, sister Wilma Niles, sister and brothers -in-law, Bernice Potter, James Potter and David “Butch” Potter. Charles is survived by son, Charles (Michelle) Niles II; two grandsons, Charles “CJ” with fiancée Daryn Cummings, and Hunter Niles; siblings, Lydia Niles, Nyomi (James) Rice and Wayne (Robin) Niles; sisters and brothers-in-law, Orletta Niles, Mary (Dave) Hill and Diane Niles; Charlie’s special angels, Melissa Rice Reynolds and Heather Rice Malvica; the “devil’s” James and John Rice; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Charlie worked for the NYS DEC flood control operation in Elmira with 40 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish. Charlie was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
 

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home 502 West Water Street, Elmira NY on Friday, November 22,2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
