Obituary of Angela M. Rocchi
Age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Angie was born in Elmira, NY, daughter of Peter A. and Anna F. Cecce Palladino. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony “Tony” Rocchi; sisters and brother-in-law Joann Gates, Maryann and Donald Curreri; sister-in-law Theresa Tallas. Angie is survived by her five children, Anthony F. Rocchi Jr. (Kathleen) of Elmira, Joann M. Siedman (Dave Cummings) of Elmira, Peter M. Rocchi (Mary) of Pine City, Carolyn (Cleary) Rocchi (Tom LaRue) of Altoona FL, and Joseph Rocchi (Danielle Troccia) of Elmira; grandchildren, Mathew Rocchi (Kyla Rose), Jason Rocchi (fiancée Katie Bossard), John Siedman (Veronica), Joel Siedman, Christopher Rocchi (Lauryn Kobbe), Cara Cleary (Michael Butler), Michael Cleary (Felicia), Nazzareno Cleary, Cortney Rocchi, Morgan Rocchi (Kyle Granger) and Alex Rocchi (Victoria); great grandchildren, Edward Rocchi, Nicholas and Bennett Siedman, Jaiden Savarese, Angelo Cleary, Michael Cleary, Corbin and Camden Granger, Luka Rocchi; sisters, Nancy Allyn of Gang Miles and Carol Palladino of Elmira; brothers-in-law, Robert Gates and John Tallis both of Horseheads; several nieces and nephews.
Angie was a lifelong resident of Elmira, growing up attending St. Anthony’s Church. In her adult life Angie had been a devout active communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. She was a candy striper at St. Joseph’s Hospital and worked at Remington Rand before she and Tony were married. While her children were growing up, Angie had a home day care, where she took care of countless numbers of children, some she was still in contact with. She also had a successful cake business she ran from home. In 2001 she and Tony opened Angie’s Inn in Pine City which they operated for 7 years before she became ill. Angie’s passion was taking care of her family and feeding everybody.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Angie will be laid to rest at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery Columbarium.
