Please share a memory of Constance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Connie, age 70, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Elmira, NY to the late Frederick and Isabel (Wrigley) Purdue. Connie was also predeceased by her brother, Dr. Gary Purdue, nephew Scott Purdue, and sister-in-law Kathy Purdue.

Connie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mike Breed; sons, Matt (Sarah Lawrence) of Horseheads; Sean (Kim) with their children, Eoin and Ellora, of Bound Brook, NJ; and daughter Bridget (Anupam) Banerjea with their children, Alex and Ethan, of Winston-Salem, NC.  She is also survived by her sister, Tine (Dave) Stevens of Horseheads; brothers, Keith (Deb) Purdue of Beaver Dams, Fred (Carol) Purdue of Elmira Heights; sister-in-law Laurel Purdue, of Carrollton, TX, and brother-in-law Marty (Barb) Breed of Sarasota, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie worked side by side with Mike at the Chimney Lounge for a number of years until it closed.  She then devoted herself to helping others by working at ARC (8th St.) and retiring from Independent Support Services. She was also a volunteer at the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

Special thanks to Matt for the tender, loving care he provided his mother during her last months.

It was Connie’s wish that there be no services.
