Obituary of Colleen M. Brewer

Age 59, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.  Colleen was born in Baltimore MD, a daughter of the late Joseph McCarthy and Nancy McCarthy Karpinski.  Her family moved to Elmira when Colleen was a child.  In addition to her parents Colleen was predeceased by her son Joseph R. Brewer.  She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Richard K. Brewer; daughters, Christine Brewer (Kevin Crowningshield) and Jessica Brewer (fiancé Keith Carlisle); grandchildren, Kalden Crowningshield, Veronica Brewer-Chalk, Hunter and Melanie Dobbs; great grandson Grayson Brewer; sister Laura Brown (Jeffrey); brother John McCarthy; lifelong sisterly friend Eileen Berleue; lifelong brotherly friend Chuck Lisk; several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.

She loved to travel with favorite spots being, St. Thomas, Ireland, Myrtle Beach and Florida beaches.  She enjoyed crafting and macrame.  Most importantly, Colleen loved spending time with family and, along with her husband Richard, babysitting the grandchildren. 

Private family services will be held.
