Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Palmer

Elmira: age 81, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Betty was born in Binghamton, NY.  She is predeceased by her birth mother Emma Benjamin McCormick, who died when Betty was very young; father and mother Claude and Eleanor McCormick; daughters, Theresa Fields and Cheryl Granger; brothers, Alan and William McCormick; sister Elaine Campbell; grandson Jeremy Shazer; and son-in-law Willie B. Brooks.  Betty is survived by son and daughter-in-law Gary and Ginna McCormick; daughters, Robin Granger and Lucinda Brooks; daughters and sons-in-law, Holly Brooks and Wayne Mayo, Rebecca Woodruff and Jamie Rivera; sisters, Carol Gaitings and Mary Chaffee; brothers, Thomas, Donald, Larry (Carol) and Bobby McCormick; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Betty had worked for many years as a cook with Meals on Wheels.  She loved playing the card game Bingo.  Betty dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m.  Committal prayers and interment will then follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
