Obituary of Gene L. Cardwell Jr.

Please share a memory of Gene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 51, of Elmira, NY unexpectedly passed away on November 14, 2023. He was the son of Vicky Bryant and the late Gene Cardwell Sr. In addition to his father, Gene was predeceased by his stepfather, Raymond Bryant, wife Alice Cardwell, and lifetime companions Cathie and Susan. Gene is survived by his mother, Vicky, stepchildren Mike (Elizabeth) Peckham and Kayla Peckham; brothers and sisters Robin Cardwell, Danny Durfee, Tara Smith, Melissa Bryant, and Jodie Bryant; as well as many aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and close family. Gene was a jack of all trades. He loved to be a handyman, working on cars, go carts, remodeling houses, and anything that he could get his hands dirty with. Gene was an avid family man. He loved all the kids and could never tell anyone “No” even though he wouldn’t show up until at least three days later. His jokes and comments would literally have you laughing for days. Gene is truly going to be missed.
