Obituary of Daniel F. James

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 74, left this world on Thursday, June 1, 2023, to travel to his heavenly home, after a brave battle with cancer.  A son of Herbert and Anna James, he lived most of his life in Elmira. He is survived by his mother Anna; siblings, James (Jackie) of Bateseville IN, Charles (Lisa) of Little Rock AR, Nancy Butler, Kathleen (Nick) Frisk, Karen (James) Osborn, and Margaret (Tim) Sullivan, all of Elmira; many much loved nieces and nephews, as well as a number of long-time friends that he treasured.  Dan was predeceased by his father Herbert James and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Terry Sheehan.

Dan graduated from Farmingdale College.  He retired from Howell’s Inc., where he worked for many years as a graphic artist.  A very talented artist, he always amazed us with his creations.  Dan was a loving son, brother, and uncle.  He will be greatly missed and will live forever in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.  Interment of Dan’s ashes will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Dan may be remembered with a donation to a charity of your choice.
