Obituary of James J. Wilson

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James "Jimbo, Jim, Willy, Jimmy, Pop Pop" Wilson of Elmira, NY passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2022 at the age of 68. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Don and Peg (Sheehan) Wilson and his brother Jerry Wilson. He left behind his loving wife of 42 years, Terry Lawton Wilson, children, Ted Wilson (Xan), Michele Ericksen (Leif), Matt Wilson (Elyse), Erica Porchas (Jose); siblings, Beth Darmstadt (Bob), Diane Booth (Tom), Tommy Wilson (Kristen), Debbie Geiger (Gary), Meggie Denicola (Tony); grandchildren Lucy, Finn, Stella, Asher, Calvin, Brenn and many nieces and nephews. An avid outdoorsman, hunter, and Bigfoot enthusiast, Jimmy proudly served in the Navy and loved collecting various trinkets and oddities. The thing that gave him the most joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He had a quiet wit and surprising charm that was impossible to resist by his many friends and family. Jimmy was one of the most generous people and gave so much to others. He will be missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. Military honors will be held at the conclusion of the service. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to Crouse Little Fighters Club, Crouse Baker Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 736 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210....www.Crouse.org/give/foundation/giving/littlefighters, in his honor.
