Julia worked locally throughout her life including Deister & Butler Jewelry store, The Grand Spectacle, Kaufman's at the Arnot Mall and most recently as a teacher's aide at Riverside Elementary School. She also volunteered at the Clemens Center for many years and was an avid proponent of the performing arts by aiding the Elmira Little Theater as well. Everyone who met Julia was better for the encounter. She was a talented seamstress. She also loved to knit, crochet, quilt and any other crafting thing you could imagine. Julia was often involved in some crafty home improvement project, with each home she lived in being fine examples of her creativeness and love. She loved to travel and ended up traveling to Paris, France and Italy of which she spoke with great excitement. Her travels to see the sites of the United States and to spend time with her children also meant a great deal to her as well. Julia was a kind and generous person. Many, many people knew and loved Julia and she will, without a doubt, be mourned and missed by all. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W.
