Obituary of Christine Ann Saxon

Age 46, of Elmira passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home. Christy was born on May 10, 1975, a daughter of Janet Hansen Saxon and the late John E. Saxon. In addition to her father she is predeceased by her sister Carolyn J. Saxon and uncle James W. Saxon. She is survived by her daughter Kendra Oldroyd of Elmira; brothers and sister-in-law, John P. and Pamela Saxon of Henrietta, NY and Patrick J. Saxon of Elmira; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Christy graduated from Horseheads High School and attended the GST BOCES cosmetology program which started her career as a hair designer. She was a designer at Kenn Hair Fashions in Big Flats. Christy loved to travel and having fun with "the girls". Most importantly was the love of her daughter Kendra, who was the light of her world. Christy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 6:15 p.m. Committal services will be in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats. In lieu of flowers donations in Christy's memory may be directed to the American Red Cross, 11371 LPGA Drive Corning, NY 14830 or Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, 2435 St Rt. 352, Elmira NY 14903.
