passed away on August 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83. A dedicated husband to his beloved wife Sharon of 61 years, he was the father to 9, grandfather to 23, great grandfather to 4 and a friend to all. Bob is survived by his wife Sharon (Cunningham); son Steve and wife Beth (Middaugh) and grandchildren Katelyn Liska, Jennifer, Dan and Tom; son David and wife Lisa (Halpin) and grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, David and Sarah; daughter Karen Tessier and husband Louis and grandchildren Angela Manning, Zach, Drew, Maggie and Patrick; daughter Kathy Labato and husband David and grandchildren Ashley Marks and Megan Herrick; son Mike and wife Jodie (Hyland) and grandchildren Rob and John; son Rob and wife Erica (Doland) and grandchildren Kylie and Trevor; daughter Colleen Agan and husband Paul Molholm and grandchildren Eleanor and Alex; son Andrew and wife Jill (Hennessy) and grandchildren Julia and Claire; brother Dan and wife Jane; brother Rich and wife Carol; brother Joe and wife Marion; brother Jerry and wife Winnie; brother-and-sister-in-law Bob and Sue Cunningham; and close friends Joe and Diane Schiefen. He is predeceased by his daughter Denise, parents John and Stella (Gorski), brother Jack and sister Mary-Catherine White. Bob loved life and was a man of great character, faith, kindness and humility with the ability to engage any and all in conversation and an eagerness to always help. He was born and raised in Elmira, NY, graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1956. He worked for 45 years at Hardinge Inc., eventually becoming Chairman & CEO for 18 years. He also served on the Boards for Chemung Financial Corporation, Swift Glass and Elmira College. He was a long-time parishioner of the Elmira Catholic Parish, loved watching the New York Yankees nightly with his dog Molly and spending summers at Keuka Lake. Above all, he adored his family. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Interment, with committal prayers will then take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
