Obituary of Angelo Ciccariello

Angelo Ciccariello Elmira: Age 103, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Angelo was born in Gaeta, Italy on February 20, 1908 a son of Nicola and Giovanina Nocera Ciccariello. He was predeceased by his wife of 75 years Elvira Salibello Ciccariello on June 3, 2009 and son John S. Ciccariello who died in May of 2011. Angelo immigrated to the United States at the age of 20. All of his adult life was spent in Brooklyn NY before moving to Elmira after the death of his wife. Angelo was a presser of high end dresses and gowns in the garment district in New York City. He was especially proud of having pressed Patricia Nixon's inaugural gown. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Anthony N. and Patricia Ciccariello of Elmira with their children, Anne (Peter) Brown, Natalie Ciccariello, Dominica (Kevin) Lumb and Rita (Edward Reidy) Ciccariello; John Ciccariello's son Scott Ciccariello; 4 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass and burial for Angelo will take place in Brooklyn. Angelo's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the 5th floor at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care given to Angelo over the last 22 months.
