Rose Mary Mucci
Elmira: Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 14, 2011 at home. Rose Mary was born on May 3, 1935 in Corning, a daughter of the late John and Anna Dunay Banik. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 55 years Ronald A. Mucci, brother John Banik, sister Margaret Blackwell, sister-in-law Josephine Mucci, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Ralph Mucci, Marion and Carol Mucci, brother-in-law Edward Sardisco and his sons, Christopher and Mark. Rose Mary is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Daryl Ann Mucci of Longmeadow MA, Mark and Kirsten Mucci of Horseheads; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Glenn Grottenthaler of Elmira; grandchildren, Rose Lanee, Stephen, Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph and Matthew. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Patricia Sardisco, Annabelle Banik; brothers-in-law, Larry Mucci and Warren Blackwell; along with several nieces, nephews, many special friends and neighbors. Rose Mary had over 40 years of dedicated service at the Anchor Glass Container Company. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and was loved and respected by all who knew her. Rose Mary took great pride in her home and garden; both were extensions of her love for life. She never asked for anything but set an example in selfless giving. Rose Mary touched the lives of everyone she met, most of all her family. She was truly the keystone that held the family together with her unconditional love. Mom, you will forever live on in our hearts. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Flowers are welcome, but giving as Rose Mary would have, to the charity of one's choice, would be appreciated.
