Joseph P. Plaski
Elmira: Age 94, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Bath VA. Joe was born March 22, 1917, the son of Alexander and Theresa Bell Plaski. He is predeceased by his wife, Dewella Seeley Plaski. Joe is survived by several nieces and nephews. A veteran of World War II, Joe proudly served his country in the 28th Army Division. He served throughout Europe and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service at the Battle of the Bulge. Joe was a sheet metal worker for Elmira Local #112. He was a member of the Elmira Elks Lodge #62, Elmira Heights American Legion Post #154, White Eagles Club, and the Disabled American Veterans, Jack Swan Chapter #13. Joe was an avid sports fan.
Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
