Dear Family,
It is with heartbreak that I discover today that we have lost John. He was a dear friend and called me his Kentucky Beauty. One of the thrills of my life was taking him to Washington DC to see his monument. Had I have known, I would have been there in May but know that I share in your grief. I had wondered why I had not heard from him. I shall miss him dearly.
