Obituary of Suzanne Learned

Age 90, of Elmira and Keuka Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born in Wellsville NY the daughter of Clayton and Anna (Reynolds) Allen and was a graduate of the University of Rochester. Suzanne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Mary Pat Learned of Elmira; son Gregg Learned of Hammondsport NY; two granddaughters, Rachel Learned of Elmira and Jennifer Moran (Scott) of Mountainview CA; nieces and nephews, Alise Learned Mahr (Bill), Norman J. Learned III, Victoria Joyce-Middaugh, Bradley Joyce, and Suzanne Caschera. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by her husband Jack Learned; sister Marianne Joyce; goddaughter Molly Morrisey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Philip and Patricia Learned. The family expresses sincere gratitude to Meals on Wheels, Suzanne's wonderful neighbors and friends, especially Jim Stewart and Marie Gublo, all of whom helped her to live independently in her home until her death, and for the compassionate care she received at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. A Memorial Service for Suzanne will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, corner of Lake and Main Sts., Hammondsport NY on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are graciously declined, but those who wish may make a donation to either Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, 409 William Street, Elmira NY 14901, Katie's Fund at the Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron Street, Bath NY 18410, or a charity of one's choice.
