Born June 21, 1936 in Elmira, passed away peacefully at the Bath Veteran's Affairs Medical Center on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Howard served four years in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed as an iron worker for the Iron Workers Association before retiring in 1986. Howard is predeceased by his first wife Jane Raub Clark, second wife Judy Knesel Clark, brothers, Norman and Albert Clark, and grandson Joshua Lanning. He is survived by his sisters, Louise (Martin) Reese and Doris Benjamin, both of Elmira; son George Dalia and fiancée Diana Knapp of Granville Summit PA; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and James DeMaria of Roanoke VA; daughter Denise Lanning of Addison NY; son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Wendy Cosgrove of Painted Post NY; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and John Voss of Philadelphia PA; grandchildren, Alicia Dalia, Amanda (Jaran) Reid, Marissa and Kayla DeMaria, Christopher Clark, Crystal Sano-Thomas, Jasmine Lanning, Kristin Cosgrove, Olivia and Madeline Voss; twelve great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Private family services, with full military honors, will be held at a later date.
