Obituary of Patricia Ann (Crane) Fitzmaurice
~~It is with great sorrow that we report our amazing wife, mother and grandmother Patricia Ann (Crane) Fitzmaurice passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 2, 2017, surrounded by her husband and family in Painted Post, NY. She had been heroically battling cancer for the better part of 12 years. Patricia was born to Ceylon and Ida Crane in Carthage, NY on July 11, 1943. She spent her entire life in service to her God, family and community. She was a registered nurse for 40 years using her skills to work with all levels of care from birth to institutional nursing of the developmentally disabled to hospice. Patricia gave her time and talents by volunteering in the Girl Scouts of America, was a Catechist for St. Casimir’s parish in Elmira, NY and an active member in her church. In the last 12 years Patricia devoted much of her time in missionary work overseas with her son, Reverend Fr. Daniel J. Wilder and her husband, Robert Fitzmaurice where she used her nursing skills to minister to others in service of the Lord. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Fitzmaurice of Minonk, IL, her children and grandchildren: Mary Beth Wilder of Corning, NY (Brooke, Jared, Megan, Katherine), Michele (Wilder) Eastman of Pine City, NY and her spouse Mark (Gregory, Isabel, Sarah, Peter), Julie (Wilder) Brown of Cazenovia, NY and her spouse Scott (James, Justin, Christina, Jon, Liliana, Elizabeth), Lynda (Wilder) Kollhoff of Painted Post, NY (McKenna, Kayla, Faith, Gabriel) , David Wilder of Auburn, NY and his spouse Terri (Hannah, Stephen, Monica, Grace, Moustapha) and Fr. Daniel Wilder of the Diocese of Orange, California and her seven great-grandchildren: Keagan, Cadence, Gavin, Dominik, Colton, Ira and Shepherd. Calling hours will be at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patricia on Saturday, November 11, 2017, 11:00 a.m., St. Casimir’s Church, 1004 Davis Street, Elmira, with her son Father Daniel Wilder presiding. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Patricia A.
