age 73 of Elmira, passed away at home on Friday, November 18, 2022 after an extended illness. Jimmy was born in Elmira, son of the late Frank W. and Mary Theresa (Cafolla) Doland. He was also predeceased by stepbrother Michael Tobin. Jimmy is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Sam and Margie Doland, Rose Doland, Carol Doland and Dave Sandore, Thomas and Carol Doland, John Doland, Mary Doland, Kathy and Dale Davis, Janet Poppelton; nieces and nephews, Daniel (Diane), David (Lisa) and Kristen Doland, Lisa (Kevin Reney) Brant, Thomas Jr. (Brenda), Robert (Jenn) Doland and Tara (Ken Bailey) Doland, Jamie Spano, Julie Fielding, Alan Jr. (Lauren), Amanda (Jonathan)and Brian Poppelton; aunt Marbury Cafolla; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; canine companion Maggie and feline companion Ardie. Jimmy was a 1967 graduate of Elmira Free Academy. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his service. Jimmy was a retired New York State Corrections officer. Water Street on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic).
