Elmira Heights: Age 72, passed away on January 24, 2022. Hank was predeceased by his father Henry, Sr., mother Kathryn, in-laws Harold "Dutch" and Isabelle Rohde, and sister-in-law Jennifer Rohde Saucier. He is survived by his wife Denise; dog, Luna; best friend Brian Qualey and his family; along with many good friends. Hank graduated from Elmira Free Academy and attended Elmira College, playing on the very first men's basketball team. He worked as a manager for Maxwell's Restaurant at the Arnot Mall, but primarily at The Branch Office, where he was a fixture for too many years to count. Hank's sense of humor caught you off guard and sent tears of laughter down your face. Hank adored coffee, had a deep fondness for all animals, especially dogs, and loved the Boston Celtics (when they were great). He was a Small Fry coach, liked old cars and was a WWII aficionado. Mostly, Hank was a wonderful husband and friend, with a heart of gold. Hank's calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:15 p.m. A livestream of the service will be on YouTube; please subscribe to McInerny Funeral Home.
