"Lou" Age 88, passed away peacefully at the St. Ann's Care Center in Webster, NY on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Lou was born on December 3, 1928 in Elmira, NY the son of Louis and Anna (Spaziani) Canali. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice (Bombaski) Canali and son Richard "Rick" Canali. Lou is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Georgeen C. and Salvatore Madonna, Webster, NY; daughter-in-law Mary E. Canali, Horseheads, NY; granddaughter Teri A. Madonna, New York City; brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Jane Canali, Sebring, FL; several nieces and nephews. Lou was a U S Army veteran. Lou and his wife Bernice were the second of three generations of Canali's to operate The Palms Restaurant, retiring in 1995. Lou's parents started The Palms in the mid 1940's. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September, 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Private committal prayers and interment, for the immediate family, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Lou with a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester NY 14620, or a charity of their choice.
