Age 81, passed away peacefully at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Jack was born in Corning, the son of the late John and Sarah (Kittner) Mullaney. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years Elizabeth (Lodge) Mullaney and brothers, William and Robert Mullaney. Jack is survived by his wife Marilyn (Cundy) Mullaney; children, and their families, James Mullaney; Matthew and Allison Mullaney with children, Sebastian and Gabriela; Joseph and Denise Mullaney with children, Sarah and Sean; Susan Mullaney with Ralph Ferran; Rebecca and Gregg Chalk with daughters, Erin, Avery and Jane; sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Roger Hilboldt; brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Rosemary Mullaney; step-children and their spouses, Kim Savino; Ken and Kim Cundy; Kelly and Mark Brinthaupt. Jack is also survived by numerous wonderful friends. Jack grew up in Corning graduating from Corning Free Academy and continuing his education at Alfred State College. Jack was the "Beverage Baron", at one time operating 4 stores. He loved his job and enjoyed "holding court" in the back room of his store. Jack was active in scouting when his sons were growing up. He loved his summers on Keuka Lake and when he started going to Florida in the winter, he felt he had a little bit of paradise both summers and winters. Jack enjoyed playing golf, and was always ready for a game of euchre…..he thought he was the best euchre player ever! Jack was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Msgr. John J. Lee Division and the Elmira Elks. He liked his time at either club enjoying the company of his many friends. He was also a long time communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Jack was well respected, influencing the lives of his family, friends, and those that had the pleasure of working with him. He will be forever loved and missed. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 12:15 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1100 W. Church Street, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Jack's family would like to thank the staff of the Chemung County Nursing Facility for their love and care; especially the 2nd floor staff and the therapy department. The family will provide flowers. Those wishing may remember Jack with a donation to either, the A.O.H. Building Fund, 701 Kinyon Street, Elmira NY 14904 or Montour Movers, c/o Greater Rochester Parkinson's Foundation, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Suite 1600, Rochester NY 14620, or a charity of one's choice.
