passed away on October 29, 2016 in Hagerstown, Md. She was born in Elmira on February 13, 1938. Her parents were Paul and Margaret (Bebble) Skelley. Sheila was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Felix, brothers, William, Jerome, and Michael. She is survived by sisters, Mary Ellen Ritter, Rita Billingsley, brother James; sister-in-law Rosemary Skelley; and brother-in-law Charles Felix. There are also many nieces and nephews. Sheila attended St. Mary's and Southside High School. Upon graduation she enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany. When she left the service she remained in the Washington area working in the real estate business. Sheila was a member of the International Society of Poets and had several poems published. She had many fond memories of growing up in Elmira and returned often to visit. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Saturday November 5, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, St. Mary's Church, Elmira at 11:00 a.m. Interment with committal prayers and military honors will then follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
