Obituary of Judith A. Bayer

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 64, passed away at her home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Judy was born in 1952, a daughter of the late Grace (Rowley) and Robert Henbest. She is also predeceased by her son Jeremy T. Bayer. Judy is survived by her husband James E. Bayer, with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 12th; son and daughter-in-law Christopher J. and Ashley Bayer of Lighthouse Point FL, and their children, Charlie, Amelia, and another baby due in October; son Matthew J. Bayer of Buffalo NY; sister Jackie Henbest of Elmira; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Bill and Cindy Henbest of White Plains NY, and Ted and Suzanne Henbest of Elmira; along with numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A woman of boundless strength and love, Judy shined a light onto everyone she met. But for her, her children and grandchildren shone the brightest. She found pleasure in gardening and cared for the animals that repeatedly were drawn to her. A favorite past time of hers was to sit with her husband of 40 years, and admire the deer and birds flying outside their living room window. Surrounded by endless support and the devotion of her husband, Judy fought an incredible fight. She passed peacefully at home. We take comfort in knowing that she is joyful in heaven, reunited with loved ones, and looking down upon us. She will be deeply missed, but remembered fondly for her gentle spirit and depthless love. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, for Judy, on Monday, August 15, 2016, 12:00 noon, St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira NY.
