Ellen Mary Welickovitch (McCarthy) Horseheads: Age 94, passed away peacefully at Bethany Manor with her loving family by her side. Ellen Mary was born in Ridgebury Township PA. She was the daughter of Michael and Julia Cain McCarthy. In addition to her parents Ellen was predeceased by her husband John M. Welickovitch in 2001 and her aunt Mary A. McCarthy. Ellen Mary's mother passed away when Ellen Mary was 10 days old. Her aunt Mary helped raise her along with her dad. Ellen Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Bernadine Welickovitch of Montoursville Pa; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Harold Decker of Elmira; son Kevin M. Welickovitch of Sayre with Christina Jones; grandchildren, Christine (Jack) Wright, Matthew Welickovitch and Daniel Welickovitch. Ellen Mary lived in Ridgebury Township most of her life. In her mid 80's she moved to Woodbrook in Southport and the last six years she resided at Bethany Manor. She was a life long active communicant at St. Ann's Church in Bentley Creek until its closing. She was a member of the church Rosary and Altar Society. Ellen Mary liked to play bingo and was a great conversationalist. She especially enjoyed family gatherings. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Ridgebury at a time to be announced. The mass time may also be found on McInerny Funeral Home website at www.mcinernyfh.com. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. The family will provide flowers. Donations in memory of Ellen Mary may be directed to Our Lady of Perpetural Help Cemetery Association, 483 Ridgebury Rd., Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914.
