Age 93, of Elmira, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Joe was born and raised in Elmira, the youngest and last surviving of nine children of Victor and Rosalie Damiano Saginario. He was predeceased by his son Joseph Saginario. Joe is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Piecuch Saginario; children and their spouses, Al and Wendy Saginario of Horseheads, Judy and Mark DePrimo of Elmira, Joni and Jim Labuski of Horseheads, Mark and Josette Saginario of Franklinton LA; daughter-in-law Kathleen Saginario of Rochester NY; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Joe was a US Navy veteran who served in the Pacific during WW II. He had a career as a union electrician for IBEW Local 139 in Elmira. Joe was a devout Catholic and a long time communicant of St. Anthony's Church until its closing. He was currently a communicant of St. Casimir's Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Casimir's Church, Elmira, on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Committal prayers and interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
